This NotePal Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) outlines how we process your personal information when you use our app, NotePal, which uses OCR technology to digitize scanned images and photos and then pass it to ChatGPT for answering user queries. By using NotePal, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We, Pacific Intellicore LLC, Inc. and our affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively “NotePal,” “we” or “us”), collect certain personal information to create and maintain your account and improve our services. We store users’ data on their iCloud accounts and local storage on their phones. We also store the user’s name, date of birth, profile picture, sex, and some information that the users provide us voluntarily on our private cloud. We do not use users’ chat histories, sell, share, or analyze them for our business purposes.

Here’s a breakdown of the information we collect and how we use it:

• Account Information: We collect your email address and phone number to create an account and verify your identity. We also create a user ID for your NotePal account. We may use this information to communicate with you about your account.
• Contact List: With your consent, NotePal may access and periodically sync your phone’s contact list to make it easy for you to find and connect with your friends on NotePal.
• Device Information: We collect your device type and operating system details for analytics and troubleshooting product issues.
• Third-Party Application Login: You can log into your NotePal account using third-party applications (e.g., Google and Apple). When you log in using this method, we collect your name and email address associated with that third-party application for authentication and identity verification purposes.
• Subscription Billing Data: We use a third-party service provider to collect and process your billing information when subscribing to NotePal. The information they collect may include your name, billing address, your credit or debit card details, phone number, and email address.
• Interactions with NotePal: Our third-party LLM providers, such as ChatGPT, may receive details about your interactions with NotePal (including the contents of your chats, upvotes, etc.) to provide and generally improve their services (but not to train their models). Your account information is anonymized before being shared with our LLM providers. Keep in mind any information you provide to the bots on NotePal will be shared with third-party LLM providers powering the bots, and there is no need to share sensitive personal information with the bots (e.g., credit card information, social security information, etc.). Please see the respective bot (such as Chatgpt) profiles for more information about the LLM providers.
• We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security. By using NotePal, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

Using NotePal, you agree not to pursue any legal actions against us related to this Privacy Policy. We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time,and we will notify you of any changes by posting the revised policy on our website.
